Chicago Day with Ryan

Today I left my friend’s house in Wisconsin to drive to visit another friend in Chicago, Ryan. A few weeks ago I went on the Carnival Miracle. It was a 15 day Journey from Los Angeles, California to Hawaii! But that’s a whole big story for another day. Ryan was a host on our Journey. He ran trivia, did dance parties, and even set up a few round of Werewolf! He, along with all the other staff made it a vacation to remember! His contract got over Just as our cruise did, so we got off at the same time. Us back to Iowa, and he back to Chicago, IL!

I was assuming that right after I returned from the cruise, I would pack up my belongings and go back to Florida. However, my mother had a different idea. As I’m packing my things she comes to my door and alerts me that she has purchased me a train ticket from Chicago, IL to Fairfax, VA. Thus not allowing me to return home. As of now I’m actually on the train, so you won’t be reading this until I arrive in Virginia. We had a few friends to visit up in Wisconsin, but we decided to leave a few hours early so we could hang out with Ryan. Remember him? From the last paragraph? It’s time for him to reenter the story!

The Face

An old friend of ours allowed us to park our van at their house whilst we’re away. So Ryan, the nice guy that he is, offers to pick us up with all our luggage and drive us around to see Chicago! We saw parks, museums, and artwork! Saw these MASSIVE clear brick structures with close up faces on them. They are digital videos of people’s faces and it was very interesting. We also went to that giant silver bean and took some photos there… Though the name escapes me. My mother wasn’t having very good depth perception today. We’re all looking from a distance and she start walking toward it… SMACK! She walked full frontal straight into it! She hit her head so hard that is made a very loud noise! Now being my mother, I’m allowed to laugh as a hard as I feel, then help her. It was hysterical, and everyone else saw it too!

After a while of sightseeing, we decided we were hungry, you know like every other moment of the day! Back on the road we went. Ended up going to this amazing pizza place named Lou Malnati’s. Being in Chicago, we hard to order the real stuff, deep dish traditional Chicago pizza! It was so thick, cheesy and delicious. I ate too much! Then again, is “too much pizza” even really a thing? I’m thinking not! We also decided to get a salad, which was HUGE! I am normally a heath nut when I’m at home, but I’ve never taken well to salad… Until today! That was by far the best salad I have ever had! I don’t know if it was the way they prepared it or the dressing they use! But it was so good!!! I’m going to check up on it and see if I can recreate it! Or maybe buy it, I don’t know, I have no internet! But I’ll figure it out!

Eventually, our food was gone, our time was up, and our train was nearly here. We all pack back into Ryan’s car, which is a fabulous car by the way, and headed to the train station. We arrive quite quickly as we were not far away! Grab our belongings, bid farewell to Ryan. I’m on the train now safe and sound. Will be on here for 17 hours! Then I’ll head out on my next adventure. Going to see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie… Or something like that. Check back for my next story, it should be coming out soon!

Thanks for tuning in on this chapter of my life, it sure is fun to live them! Maybe someday I’ll write a story with you? You never know where I’ll be headed next!
