DC Day with Brad and Angelina

I’ve been to the DC area many times, but I’ve never actually gone to see the sights. For this trip, I’m out here on business, but I had a free day so I decided to meet up with some friends. I met Brad and Angelina about a month ago out in the midst of the ocean somewhere. Okay, so we were on a cruise, but aside from the boat was nothing for miles! They happen to live about 2 and a half hours away from where I’m staying, so we decided to meet up. If you have read my blog for a while now, you’d remember Ryan. We all met on that boat, and they came into play Werewolf too!

My family and I arrive a little early, so I pull out of my phone to see if they’d already arrived. I see I have a Facebook notification saying they tagged us on a check in at Logan’s Roadhouse. I guess they firmly believed we wouldn’t stand them up. We enter in and they already have appetizers ordered and they were delicious! Wings, Butter Bread Rolls, Potatoes Skins, Chicken Strips etc. By the time I was finished with the apps, I wasn’t even in need of any more subsidence. But if you know me at all… I can eat! I ordered a steak, fries and salad. Again, I don’t even like salad, but recently I’ve taken quite well to it.

We sat and talked about the cruise, shared a lot of laughs, and shoved our faces with delicious food. After we all were reaching the end of our meals, we decided to look for something to do around the area. Though there wasn’t anything terribly close, we decided to go out to the Smithsonian. All the times that I’ve been to DC and I’ve never actually gotten around to see any of these museums. They we’re actually quite fascinating. I’ve never been much of a history buff, but I learned a lot that day. For instance, an Elephant Bird… That’s a real thing! I thought it was a Joke when I first saw it, well the egg… Well, the photo of the egg, but you get the point! I looked it up and these are real things. They look like fat Ostriches. Or a funny looking Flamingo!

We also saw loads of pretty Jems. Not petty, pretty! Sadly the Hope Diamond was not being shown that day, but we saw many others. I got a few photographs, but I actually forgot to bring my camera on this trip. This WHOLE trip. Ames, IA – Clintonville, WI – Oregon, WI – Chicago, IL – Train Ride – Fairfax, VA – Soon enough the whole ride back to Iowa. So I apologize for any photos in my past few posts. I do have a few nice cameras, but I am running this trip with photos from my phone.

Eventually after a lot more laughs, a few photos and lot of walking, we arrive back to the parking garage. PAUSE: Do you have any idea how hard it is to find parking in DC?! It took us about a half hour to get there and then another 30 Just to find a space. Eventually, we found a parking garage instead, because if a space goes free, it’s gone in quite literally 5 seconds. UNPAUSE: We bid our farewells and drive back to our hotel. Housekeeping came, yay! I don’t mind doing any form of cleaning except for one thing. I hate making beds, I don’t know why, but I do. I can cook, clean, wash, dry, dust, vacuum, shop vac, wipe, build, lift, whatever! But I despise making beds! But in hotels they do it for me, so thank you. I truly appreciated it. Another day went, another memory made. Hope to meet up with them again someday. If you’re reading this, let me know when you’re around town. Next time I’ll show you around my city!
